Lunga “Luchy” – as he would like to be addressed – was born in Katlehong. He holds a diploma in Professional Acting from City Varsity.
Before being on The River, he had a a brief cameo on Mzansi Magic series, Ring of Lies Season 2, he was a theatre nerd.
He is best known for portraying Andile, on The River, the son of mining magnate Lindiwe Dlamini (played by Sindi Dlathu).
The actor that inspired me as a young actor: Growing up I was inspired by Robert Whitehead (Barker Haines on Isidingo) and Motlatsi Mafatshe (Sechaba Matabane on Isidingo)
The album/record that moves me: Busa by Dj Euphonik – This song literally moves me to tears. The message inspires me to hold on to God more, and reassures me that greater things are coming.
My all-time favourite local TV drama series: Yizo Yizo; it was one of the best local series’, with the richest content and the best cast.
My sanctuary: Home is my Sanctuary, because there’s no place like it.
The one quality people will most likely remember me by: Being kind and thoughtful.
Words I live by: “What’s yours is yours, and if it has to happen, it will happen.”
Catch Lunga Luchy on The river, on 1Magic (Channel 103), every weekday (20h00).
